TIGHNABRUAICH
Discover the coastal village of Tighnabruaich, tucked away on the West Coast of Scotland, also known as Argyll's Scret Coast. Just minutes away you will find local arts and crafts, cafes and welcoming pubs.  Bordered by Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute, this is an area of stunning natural beauty, with hills, glens, rugged coastlines, white beaches, clear waters and ancient forests. The whole area is steeped in Highland history and dotted with ruins, castles and ancient sites.

Around 80 miles from Glasgow by road, a perfect tranquil holiday spot for sailors, tourists and fishermen alike. Known as one of the most scenic drives in Scotland, a drive along the narrow roads chisled out the hill side offers some of the best great views of the Bute, Arran and the Ayrshire coasts and the hills.

DIRECTIONS
Getting here by road from Glasgow this fabulous drive takes via Loch Lomond, through the Arrochar Alps and over the world-famous Rest and Be Thankful. There are some wonderful viewpoints dotted along this road. Take the A82 along Loch Lomond to Tarbet, then the A83 towards Inveraray and Campbeltown. At Cairndow, turn left on to the A815, then at Strachur turn right on to the A886, signposted Glendaruel and Colintraive. Just after Glendaruel turn right onto the A8003 towards Tighnabruaich. Once in Tighnabruaich travel to to village centre.

Getting here by road and ferry is another option is to get the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon and enjoy a drive through remote, mountainous country. You then pick up the same coastal road as above. Take the A8 to Gourock, then Western Ferries from McInroy’s Point to Hunter’s Quay near Dunoon. Turn right on to A815, then shortly after leaving the 40mph area, turn left on B836, a winding single track road with passing places. After about 17 miles, turn right on A886, then left on A8003 towards Tighnabruaich.

Great house in fabulous location
5/5 Star Upfront Reviews - September 2023
The house was perfect for us. Spacious and comfortable and fabulous views and location. The whole area is beautiful. There are good local shops and cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Lovely local walks. Pebbly beach nearby. The Portavadie Spa was also great hit - indoor and outdoor pools, gym, hot tubs and lovely restaurant. The hob was malfunctioning on first night - but the owner organised an emergency replacement until an electrician could repair it. Great response on a Saturday night.

Amazing Location

Waterside

VRBO Review - August 2022

Waterside is a stunning property in one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland. The property was well appointed and there was ample room for our family group of 8. We were blessed with great weather so enjoyed the views from the balcony. We made use of the information about the local attractions and went on the ferry to Tarbert as foot passengers (great advice), ate at Botanica at the Barn and Kames Hotel (both amazing) and spent a glorious day on Ostell Bay beach.

Waterside

Guest Review - October 2021
After a number of previous visits to the Waterside it was lovely to return. You couldn’t ask for a better position with stunning views which are ever changing. House is very well equipped and comfortable. It was strange not being able to control the heating ourselves though as the temperature/weather was always different. Rang the owner once to put it on, which they did straight away, but we would have preferred to have been able to do it ourselves as and when was necessary. Having said that we have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Waterside Villa

Guest Review - October 2020
This was our 7th stay at The Waterside and as always it didn't disappoint us in anyway. Bruce was an amazing host and communication was brilliant. We should have been a group of 8 but ended up with only 2 of us due to restrictions. A quiet and relaxing week which was just what we needed and The Waterside allows you to unwind perfectly. The most amazing views which are as good as watching any television from all of the living area windows, as well as the bedrooms. Many, many thanks for a wonderful time....we have already booked the same week for next year!
