Taynuilt Cottage is an individually charming 19th-century coastal retreat, full of character and set in one of the most idyllic locations on Scotland’s stunning West Coast. Positioned right beside the historic Toward Lighthouse on the shores of the River Clyde, this unique cottage offers a truly magical seaside setting, just a 10-minute drive south of Dunoon.
If you love sailing, climbing, walking or just lazing by the sea, Taynuilt Cottage is the perfect place for you. It is in the most magic spot possible, with sea views, where you can watch ferries and boats pass by and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Cowal Peninsula, known for its superb scenery.
With its unbeatable coastal position and cosy, old-worldly appeal, Taynuilt Cottage offers a truly special escape for those looking to experience the beauty and serenity of Argyll’s coastline.
Interior
The cottage is very well cared for, welcoming, clean and homely, with delightful and artistic seaside decorations reflecting its creative owner.
The cottage is spacious and set over two levels. The ground level living spaces features a dining kitchen, two sitting rooms, and a sunroom.
There is no WiFi in the cottage, allowing guests to fully unwind and disconnect. (If you need wi-fi your mobile phone hotspot works perfectly well.)
Bedrooms and Bathroom
Featuring three bedrooms spread over the upper floor, maximum four guests allowed only. Includes all bed linen and towels.
Bedroom 1: Upstairs double bed, sea views
Bedroom 2: Upstairs twin bedroom (connecting to double bedroom), sea views
Bedroom 3: Upstairs twin bedroom, accessed by separate staircase, sea views
Access to the bedrooms are via three separate steep staircase.
The bathroom is located on the ground level with a shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet.
There is an additional toilet located on the ground floor.

Guests have access to a large front and rear garden area where you can enjoy space and the stunning views across the water.

Visit local attractions including the Benmore Botanic Gardens, Argyll Forest Park, and historic Kilmun. Explore further afield to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Argyll's Secret Coast, take the ferry to the Isle of Bute to visit Mount Stuart, or visit historic Inveraray. It's also an easy day trip to Oban, one of the seafood capitals of Scotland.
