Eckford House is a superb three bedroom holiday house offering spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to seven guests, featuring an inviting hot tub.
 
A traditional renovated country house with panoramic views across the beautiful Benmore valley and mountains beyond.  A magical area, ideal for a relaxing break, situated within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, West Scotland.
 
Benmore has so much to offer including Benmore Botanical Gardens, Pucks Glen and more spectacular scenery between the mountains and lochs.
 
Interior
Dominated by spacious living areas and views guests will appreciate all the modern comforts this holiday house offers. Renovated to a high standard while keeping the traditional character of the building, with underfloor heating throughout. Eckford House has a wood burning stove with a marble and wooden fireplace creating a homely a warm ambience.
 
On the ground floor, the fully equipped kitchen featuring a solid oak kitchen with a Belfast sink, electric range cooker, large kitchen table ideal for family get-togethers.
 
The spacious living area has stunning window views, comfortable leather sofas and a welcoming open fire. The large dining space can comfortably seat eight guests.  For entertainment there is a 50" Smart T.V, Bluetooth music system.
 
Oil underfloor central heating.  Initial wood supply for wood burner in living room is included.
 
Bedrooms and Bathroom
Featuring three spacious bedrooms on the first floor. Includes all bed linen and towels. 
 
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed, and En-suite with shower cubicle and toilet.
Bedroom 2: With 3 single beds and En-suite with shower cubicle and toilet (Jack and Jill shared with bedroom 3).
Bedroom 3: With king size bed and En-suite with shower cubicle and toilet. (Jack and Jill shared with bedroom 2).
 
Downstairs bathroom features a walk-in shower, hand basin and toilet.
 
Outside
A relaxing jacuzzi style hot tub with stunning multicolour LED lighting and Bluetooth music system, situated in a log cabin decorated in warm fairy lights; this is located next to the house, perfect for unwinding after a fun-filled and busy day exploring.
 
With over 4 hectares of ground to explore, the gardens consist of a large rare, charted collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, Douglas firs, magnolia trees and more. The garden also has magnificent waterfall features and trails throughout the garden.
 
No events or parties to be held at Eckford House.
 
Originally owned by the Younger family in the 1800's. The house was initially lived in by the factor of the Benmore Estate and encompasses a wealth of botanical history, consisting of vast charted collections of seedlings from around the globe. (Douglas Firs, Giant Conifers, rare species of Rhododendron, Magnolia and Azaleas.)

Explore
There is a local store one mile from the property for everyday provisions.
 
Dunoon itself is a coastal town located 7 miles away filled with quirky shops, cafe's bars, and restaurants.
 
An ideal base to explore the Cowal Peninsula for walks, hiking and visiting the many surrounding attractions. Or you may simply take time out to enjoy the spectacular location The area is one big outdoor playground, take your pick from walking, cycling, sailing, fishing, golfing, windsurfing and more.
 
Explore further afield to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Argyll's Secret Coast, take the ferry to the Isle of Bute to visit Mount Stuart, or visit historic Inveraray. It's also an easy day trip to Oban, one of the seafood capitals of Scotland.
 
Glasgow is just over an hour away via the Western Ferries or two hours by road via Loch Lomond.
  
Car Parking: There is private car parking space for four cars.
 
Outdoor safety: Guests have access to the outdoor woodland garden area. Please take care with younger children, supervision is recommended.

Cleanliness & Disinfecting: Use of cleaning chemicals that are effective against Covid, Linens, towels and laundry washed in accordance with local authority guidelines, Guest accommodation is disinfected between stays.

BENMORE
Benmore is on the Cowal Peninsula, situated between Loch Eck and the Holy Loch, in Argyll and Bute, West of Scotland on the A815 road. Accessible by both land and sea, the trip to Dunoon can either be a ferry crossing over the Firth of Clyde, considered to be one of the best sailing areas in the world, or by a drive through spectacular scenery of dramatic mountains and lochs.
 
The area is famously known for the spectacular botanical gardens 'Benmore Botanic Gardens'. A magnificent mountainside garden surrounded by beautiful scenery, at the gateway of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.  Its 120 acres are home to a world-famous collection of plants from the Orient and the Himalaya to North and South America, including over 300 species of rhododendrons.   
 
DUNOON
Dunoon is the main town on the Cowal Peninsula in the south of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is on the western shore of the upper Firth of Clyde, to the south of the Holy Loch.
