A wonderful stay in sunny Strone!

5/5 Upfront Review August 2022

We spent six nights in the Dunbheag Cottage. It was so cosy inside, with everything you could possibly need for a home from home stay. The outdoor seating area on the decking was perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining which we did a lot of! It was super to have access to a section of private beach with a beach hut where we had several picnics! Our dog was made to feel very welcome and had a great time too. Our hosts were fantastic and gave us a lovely warm welcome of chocolates and prosecco. They were on hand for any queries. It was a truly lovely stay and we hope to be back one day. The Strone Inn is only a 10 minute walk and so is the cafe. Lots of woodlands nearby and the Botanical Gardens are a must!

Beautiful
4.8/5 Upfront Review June 2022
Lovely property with stunning views, very relaxing. Had some of our meals out on the veranda which gets the sun all day. You can walk through the owners garden which is stunning to go down to the beach (which is stoney) . Lovely chilled holiday.

Lovely autumnal week

Dunbeag Cottage Strone

Sept 2021
One of the best Scottish cottages we have stayed in with access to a private beach and beach hut … perfectly situated

Beautiful house in excellent location

July 2021
Dunbheag Cottage is a lovely cottage in the grounds of a stunning house on the Loch. The owners are very nice, friendly and respectful. Strone is a small quiet hamlet with a great pub, doing excellent food and a very lovely little cafe next to the pier. We had a great week here in July 2021 and the house was perfect for a family of 4. The balcony is gorgeous and we were lucky with the weather being suitable to eat our meals out here. The house is perfectly placed for Benmore botanical gardens and numerous forestry commission carparks and walks whilst being close enough to Dunoon that we could nip into town to get our shopping. We visited the Isle of Bute one day which was less than an hour away including driving and the Colintraive ferry. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back.
