Scallopshell Lodge is nestled in a spectacular setting near the shores of Loch Fyne, Otter Ferry on the Ballimore Estate. Uniquely designed to enjoy the peaceful surrounds and tranquil waterside location. A welcoming and well presented three bedroom lodge, Scallopshell is a perfect hide-away to relax and unwind in a beautiful and magical setting.

The interiors are of a modern and comfortable standard. The lodge comprises of a spacious open plan living area with comfortable lounges, large TV screen, and an inviting wood burning stove. Wonderful views are featured from the comforts in your living room through the large windows. On chilly evenings cosy up and stretch out in front of the wood burner with a good book and a glass of your favourite tipple. Wood burning stove includes complementary supply of wood.

One of the many highlights of Scallopshell is the spacious rooms and views. The Master bedroom offers wonderful window views over the loch bay. Both spacious and light, this is a perfect haven for a restful retreat away from it all. There are also a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The shared family bathroom features a shower over the bath, wash basin and toilet.

The lodge is ideally situated 50 metres from the beach front, with direct access it is idyllic for a lazy day’s beachcombing and long walks. The sunsets you will experience are heavenly. Scallopshell Lodge is a special place that will have you return year after year. Ideal for a family holiday, a romantic honeymoon, a special occasion or simply to escape the world.
The estate is beautiful and remote, the nearest convenience store is located in Strachur, 16 miles away.

Within walking distance (0.8 mile) the well-known Oystercatcher restaurant in Otter Ferry is located on the waterfront offering first class food and award-winning ales brewed locally in the nearby Fyne Ales Brewery at the top of Loch Fyne. Bookings advised.
A wonderful base to explore the boundless historical and scenic attractions that are on offer in this beautiful region, to the many leisure pursuits including walking, hiking, cycling, fishing and sailing, there is something for all. Explore further afield to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the Isle of Bute, and historic Inveraray, it's also an easy day trip to Oban, one of the seafood capitals of Scotland.

Scallopshell Lodge is on the east side of Loch Fyne on the B8000, about 16 miles south of Strachur and close to Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Otter Ferry itself is a quiet backwater but is within easy reach of Inveraray, Bute, Loch Lomond and Dunoon. The drive down the lochside to Tighnabruaich must be one of the most beautiful in Scotland.
The small communities along Loch Fyne are known for their oyster fishing and fine restaurants which offer this delicacy. Close to the small community of Otter Ferry is the Otter Ferry Seafish business, one of several fish farms and hatcheries in the area.
The well-known Oystercatcher restaurant in Otter Ferry is in a beautiful location right on the beach and offers first class food and award-winning real ales brewed locally in the nearby Fyne Ales Brewery at the top of Loch Fyne.

We wanted to have a Christmas holiday away from all the rush and the cabin worked just perfectly. Amazing quiet location and the property according to the expectation. Great communication and support from the owner - prepared for us an amazing and huge Christmas tree (such a nice gesture), so we didn’t have to sort ourselves. We arrived quite late with two small kids and the house was already warm, which was also appreciated due to cold weather. Enough firewood provided for the whole stay was also a very nice touch and not always the case. Comfy beds and warm duvet and enough storage available. Kitchen decently equipped although if you want to do a bit more cooking I would recommend to bring some larger pans and pots. The highlight of our stay was to see the dolphins swimming next to our ferry from Portavadie port. Something we will definitely not forget. We had an amazing time

It was very comfortable, warm and clean, with lovely views. I loved the wood interiors and the fireplace. The shower was a little weak and ran a bit hot and cold, but I think that can be expected from a cabin out in the country. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it completely.

Fabulous location, warm and cosy. The grounds are interesting with the old overgrown woodland garden. It was a great place for long walks.

We had a lovely week at Scallopshell Lodge. The house was clean and comfortable and in a lovely setting with beautiful views. The kitchen was well equipped. We have visited the estate a number of times, so know the area well, but first-time visitors may need a bit more local information provided to make the most of their holiday. I would highly recommend any of the lodges to friends and family.
Beautiful beach side location

I’d highly recommend the lodge for a peaceful break. Take bikes if you have them as surrounding roads and path through the estate is perfect for cycling.
