OTTER FERRY
Oystershell Lodge is on the east side of Loch Fyne on the B8000, about 16 miles south of Strachur and close to Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Otter Ferry itself is a quiet backwater but is within easy reach of Inveraray, Bute, Loch Lomond and Dunoon. The drive down the lochside to Tighnabruaich must be one of the most beautiful in Scotland.

The small communities along Loch Fyne are known for their oyster fishing and fine restaurants which offer this delicacy. Close to the small community of Otter Ferry is the Otter Ferry Seafish business, one of several fish farms and hatcheries in the area. The well-known Oystercatcher restaurant in Otter Ferry is in a beautiful location right on the beach and offers first class food and award-winning real ales brewed locally in the nearby Fyne Ales Brewery at the top of Loch Fyne.
What a view!
4.7/5 Upfront Reviews Jan 2022
We really enjoyed our short break and we were hit with two storms which made it even better. Sitting at the fire, watching the waves crash against the shore ... it doesn't get much better. The windows in the bedroom are genius! We'll definitely return. Loved it.

Fabulous Stay in a Beautiful Part of the World
Aug 2021
We had a fantastic week in Oystershell Lodge. The pebble beach is literally footsteps from the door and the water was crystal clear. We were very lucky with the weather, which made it even more magical - but the views from the Lodge would look amazing even in the rain! Takeaway fish and chips from the Oystercatcher are an absolute must!

Stunning location
June 2021
Oystershell lodge is a fabulous place for a relaxed and peaceful stay. The location is unbeatable, stunning views over Loch Fyne and the oyster beds, there is always something to watch and the constantly changing sky makes it a fascinating area. The lodge is well equipped and really comfortable, we stayed for a week and wished we could have had longer. The Oyster Catcher pub is excellent and the surrounding area has so much to offer, great for walking, bird watching and generally mooching about.

Wonderful lodge in a spectacular location
December 2020
The lodge itself is well laid out with a wonderful kitchen, lounge, dining area perfect for relaxing in. The location however is nothing short of sublime. Even on bad weather days all you need do is sit in front of the fire and watch the weather patterns out over the loch. On one day we were lucky enough to spot an otter out in the loch.

A sublime location
Sept 2020
Spacious and comfortable lodge by the water's edge on Loch Fyne. It's a long way from shops etc on single track roads, but the scenery is stunning, and the nearby Oystercatcher pub/restaurant is excellent.

A blissful hideaway
5/5 Home Away Review Stayed Mar 2020
This property didn't disappoint. We were so ready for a break from the city and the view took our breath away. We got to look at that view for 3 days with perfect positioning for the sunset. If the weather had been better we would have gone for a dip. Fantastic - we fully recommend. :)

A wonderful week at Oystershell Lodge,

A perfect spot
5/5 Stayed Aug 2019
It's hard to overstate how good the location is with beautiful views over Loch Fyne and sunsets over the hills. The lodge is exstremely comfortable and the owners are very easy to deal with. The Oystercatcher pub is an easy walk and does great food, beer and wine - make sure you book for evening dining though.
