TIGHNABRUAICH
Discover the coastal village of Tighnabruaich, tucked away on the West Coast of Scotland, also known as Argyll's Scret Coast. Just minutes away you will find local arts and crafts, cafes and welcoming pubs. Bordered by Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute, this is an area of stunning natural beauty, with hills, glens, rugged coastlines, white beaches, clear waters and ancient forests. The whole area is steeped in Highland history and dotted with ruins, castles and ancient sites.
DIRECTIONS
Getting here by road from Glasgow this fabulous drive takes you up the side of Loch Lomond, through the Arrochar Alps and over the world-famous Rest and Be Thankful. The final stretch winds along the coast with the Kyles of Bute stretching out ahead. There are some wonderful viewpoints dotted along this road. Take the A82 along Loch Lomond to Tarbet, then the A83 towards Inveraray and Campbeltown. At Cairndow, turn left on to the A815, then at Strachur turn right on to the A886, signposted Glendaruel and Colintraive. Just after Glendaruel turn right onto the A8003 towards Tighnabruaich. Once in Tighnabruaich follow signs for Kames.
Getting here by road and ferry is another option is to get the ferry from Gourock to Dunoon and enjoy a drive through remote, mountainous country. The writer Iain Banks reckons it’s one of best wee roads in Scotland. You then pick up the same coastal road as above. Take the A8 to Gourock, then Western Ferries from McInroy’s Point to Hunter’s Quay near Dunoon. Turn right on to A815, then shortly after leaving the 40mph area, turn left on B836, a winding single track road with passing places. After about 17 miles, turn right on A886, then left on A8003 towards Tighnabruaich.
Guest Book Review23 December 2023 - 02 January 2024Having been here and loved it so much in July, we could not wait to get back and spend our first ever Christmas in Tighnabruaich at this wonderful flat.We loved it just as much mid winter as in the summer! It was so cosy and we loved watching the ever changing weather through these wonderful picture windows. Heron still in residence on the rock outside at low tide.It has been very special to be here for Christmas and we could not have wished for a better place to have stayed inKika Drysdale & Family, Portugal
Relaxing family holiday5/5 Star Upfront Review - August 2023The apartment was amazing, very clean, comfortable beds, Eleanor has thought of everything a family might need for a lovely break. However the view over the Kyles of Bute was by far the best part of our stay. We sat and watched the gannets spectacular dives for fish, enjoyed our own private beach and got to know Dave the local heron. A truly special place ❤️
Gorgeous flat in the most beautiful location4.8/5 Upfront Review - July 2023We had the most wonderful stay. The flat was wonderfully spacious and light, impeccably clean and absolutely everything we needed was provided. We loved the big table in the kitchen and enjoyed the gorgeous views. We were lucky enough to have a couple of beautiful sunny days and it was wonderful to have a dip in the sea right in front of the garden followed by drinks on the lawn! Bliss!
Beautiful stay in Tighnabruaich

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house is clean, spacious, warm, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The local area is peaceful and beautiful, many great walks along the coast or in the hills. Plan on returning soon.
Accommodation to match the views.

Very little to more to add. The location and views are just wonderful. If you are lucky with the weather like we were then it would be hard to beat. All around restful and relaxing.
Guest Book Review - July 2022
We were thrilled to be back at Tighnafaolinn again and have a wonderful week exploring the areas we didn't manager last time. The property and the area are both as fantastic as we remembered - thank you for a great holiday.
We will be in touch should we decide to make this an annual pilgrimage.
Best wishes, Johnston family (x5)

Sitting in the living room with sunshine pouring in idyllic view over the still water, watching the odd boating activity, looking out for otters and seals (or maybe Squirrels? :) )
A perfect week reminiscing childhood holidays and making new memories for us all.
Property was perfect... all we could have needed and wanted. Thank you ! I'm sure we will be back!

We had a wonderful time here again. Enjoying the beautiful views, cosy livingroom and many cycles. We are all sad to leave but hope to return another time. Such a nice, cosy house with the best view. It is the most amazing thing to wake up every morning and see a view as beautiful as this. Thank you very much for making our stay as amazing as it was!

We had a brilliant time staying here and exploring Cowal, walking, running, swimming in the Kyles, cooking fresh fish bought in Tarbet via a trip on the Waverley, and most of all looking at the views through the windows! Many thanks, we hope to come back.
