Introduction
Burnlea Cottage is a traditional cottage set amid beautiful scenery in the quiet hamlet of Clachaig in Glen Lean. Like other cottages in the village, it was built in the 19th century to house workers from the nearby Gunpowder Mill, the ruins of which can still be seen in the lower glen.

Interior
The cottage is furnished in a traditional style. Its centrepiece is the large lounge giving you an old worldly feeling with beamed ceiling, parquet floor, lovely open fire, and stunning views. There is also a grand piano (available for use by arrangement). French door windows open out into the garden. There is a separate traditional dining room, four bedrooms (one with en suite facilities) three double bedrooms and one single, kitchen, and bathroom. The cottage is all on one level. It is fully equipped to accommodate up to seven people, but is equally cosy and comfortable for smaller numbers or even a couple . There is a large enclosed garden.

Explore
The cottage is situated at the very edge of the village, and boasts superb views of the upper glen and surrounding hills, including the imposing Cruach Neuran. Not far from the foot of the garden runs the Little Eachaig river, which winds its way through the glen.

It can be reached from Glasgow in one hour and a half (Glasgow Airport: one hour), including the ferry across the firth. The perfect location for walking (there are many beautiful walks in the area) and wildlife (if you are in luck you may spot a Golden Eagle), as well as all the attractions that Cowal has to offer: castles, gardens, lochs, inns, and restaurants. Ideally located for those who wish to explore the wider region: Loch Striven, Tighnabruaich, Portavadie, Otter Ferry, the Isle of Bute, Loch Eck, Strachur, Inverary are all within easy striking distance.
